Tips on going overseas vacation for Malaysians

POSTED ON: Wednesday, February 18, 2015 @ 1:37 AM | 0 comments

So, the title says it all. I'm gonna divide the tips into four, according to the season. But before that, here's a brief on tips on overseas vacation :

MALAYSIANS:

  • Check the weather of the place on the specific time you're going. You don't want to arrive on a bad weather, don't you.
  • (For Muslims) Print all the prayer time on the specific time you're going. You can find it here: http://www.islamicfinder.org/
  • (For Muslims) Make sure you bring your Kiblat compass which you can find in some stores that sells telekung or some Islamic stores.
  • Check the temperature of the place you're going. Make sure you bring the clothes that matches the temperature.
  • Bring your cell phones, tablets or all the important gadgets because they maybe help you to kill time while waiting for your flight.
  • Check the electric current on your destination because some countries doesn't have the same electric current as us. If you found the electric current is different, buy an adapter which you can find it in electrical stores.
  • Make sure you have your destination's currency. I recommend for you to change your currencies here (in Malaysia) instead of in your destination because it's always safer to have the currency first than anything because of emergency purposes.
  • The ticket, passport, etc. Make sure you bring the right thing because mistakes always happen. Your flight time is very important too. Don't ever miss a flight. It's horrible, especially when it's your own fault, instead of the airline's.
  • Some country does not allow food in. So always be careful when you bring your food. I recommend Brahim.
  • Some airport is very strict on metal things. They might ask you to take off your belt and shoes. Always wear less metal clothes on airports.
  • Make sure your arrangement on your destination was confirmed. All your hotels, rental cars, anything.
(Additional) Travel in style:

  • Passport holders are like, the hottest thing right now.
  • Accessories are fine, but through the custom you gotta take it all off. It's alright as long as you know how to manage your accessories.
  • Book your limo in the luxury section (lol)
  • Let's not forget sunglasses.
  • Elle's new collection of luggages are cute.
(Additional) Kpop lovers:

  • Bring all your laptops, tablets (recommended), ipads, iphones, etc.
  • Make sure you got your internet connection in your destination. I recommend buying an international internet plan here rather than to buy there.
  • Keep calm and enjoy your vacation without missing your oppas.
And here's the season edition:

Winter:

  • Winter wear is a must. I don't recommend trench coat because the snow will ruin the wool and you'll get cold.
  • Bring long john if the temperature is too cold like -10 celcius and below. You can find it at stores that sells winter wear.
  • Check whether the airport you're landing on got aerobridge or not. If it does, you may keep your winter wear in cargo. If it doesn't, you MUST keep your winter wear on board. You don't wanna run to the airport. Trust me.
  • Bring the right shoes. Converses are not recommended. The material is too thin. Find something with thicker material.
  • Jeans are fine. Shorts are not.
Summer:

  • Well it's like you're travelling inside Malaysia.
Fall:
  • I recommend sweaters, lots of sweaters and maybe some trench coats.
  • Jeans is the best.
  • Wear shoes and no slippers, please.
  • I REALLY LOVE FALL (just adding that there)
  • Nothing else I guess.
Spring:
  • Sweaters are recommended too.
  • Bring some flowy skirts that can make you feel like a princess in the garden with those flowers~ lols.
  • I still recommend shoes.
  • I think that's it hmm.
